Bible Reading - Week 47

WEEK 47

As you read this week, be on the lookout for struggles the early church experienced. We sometimes think things could be perfect in the church if we could only get back to the way things were at the beginning. These readings reveal that the church has always faced challenges.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved.

 

DAY 1 Acts 17:1-18:18

  • Pay attention as you read today to two events going on simultaneously, witnessing and persecution. Which wins out?
  • What do the Bereans do that serves as a superb model for everyone?
  • What does God command all people everywhere to do? Why?

 

DAY 2 1 Thessalonians

  • Chapter 1 makes clear that Paul is pleased with the progress the Thessalonians are making in their Christian lives. What evidence does he give that they are moving in the right direction?
