Bible Reading - Week 46

WEEK 46

You will continue to progress through Acts this week as well as make your way through two of the earliest New Testament letters. Be sure to take time to thank God for the faithfulness of the early Christians because apart from them the gospel never would have been passed down to us.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.

 

DAY 1 Acts 9-11

  • Who is Ananias? Who is Aeneas? How do these two men help advance the gospel in the first century?
  • How does Barnabas help Paul be accepted by Christians?
  • How does Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, help advance the gospel?
  • Who is Cornelius? What is his role in spreading the gospel to the Gentiles?
  • Where are the disciples first called Christians?

 

DAY 2 Acts 12-14

  • Why does Herod die?
  • Who does the Holy Spirit set apart for missionary work?
  • What do Paul and Barnabas do after the Jews reject the gospel?
  • Who do the people of Lystra think Paul is? Who do they think Barnabas is?
  • What happens to Paul when Jews from Antioch and Iconium catch up to him?

 

DAY 3 James 1-5

  • What good purpose do trials serve?
  • What does sin always lead to?
  • What is human anger incapable of producing?
  • What is wrong with being religious yet not controlling your tongue?
  • What is wrong with favoritism?
  • What is wrong with faith without works?
  • Who is the human tongue so dangerous?
  • What happens when you submit to God and draw near to him?
  • How long should we be patient?
  • What is the effect of the prayer of a righteous person?

 

DAY 4 Galatians 1-3

  • Why is Paul amazed at the Galatians?
  • How did Paul receive the gospel?
  • How did the Judean churches react to Paul’s conversion?
  • What mistake do Cephas (Peter) and other disciples make that Paul has to challenge them on and correct?
  • Who is under a curse?
  • Who is Abraham’s seed?
  • Why is the law given?
  • How do we become Abraham’s seed?

 

DAY 5 Galatians 4-6

  • Why are believers no longer slaves but sons?
  • Paul says circumcision doesn’t matter anymore. What matters now?
  • What must we use our freedom to do?
  • What will not happen to those who practice the works of the flesh?
  • What is the danger you must be on guard against when helping someone who has been overtaken in doing wrong?
  • What happens to the one who sows to the flesh? To the Spirit?

 

DAY 6 Acts15-16

  • What is the issue at stake in chapter 15 and what conclusion does the church ultimately reach?
  • Why do Paul and Silas get arrested?
  • What happens while Paul and Silas are in jail?
