DAY 1 John 7-9

  • When Jesus goes up to the temple midway during the festival to teach, why are the Jews so amazed at his teaching?
  • Why do the people accuse Jesus of having a demon?
  • What does Jesus promise on the last and most important day of the festival?
  • Why does no one stone the woman caught in adultery? What instructions does Jesus give her after her accusers leave?
  • What does Jesus predict will happen to anyone who follows him?

  • Why do the sheep follow their shepherd and not a stranger?

 DAY 3 Luke 12:1-13:30

  • Why fear God according to Luke 12?
  • Why not worry when you are brought before authorities because of your faith in Christ?

  • What does Jesus promise to those who seek his kingdom? Why always be ready for the second coming of Jesus?
  • What does Jesus mean when he says he did not come to bring peace but division?
  • What will happen if you refuse to repent?
  • Why does Jesus heal on the Sabbath day although it is offensive to the religious authorities?
  • What does Jesus mean when he says, “Some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last”?

 

DAY 4 Luke 14-15

  • How does Jesus stress humility in 14:7-14?
  • What do you learn from the parable of the large banquet about what God thinks when people make excuses for failing to come to his banquet?
  • What do you have to leave behind to be a disciple of Jesus?
  • What is the common theme in the three parables of Luke 15?

 

DAY 5 Matthew 19; Mark 1:10-31; Luke 16:1-18:30

  • When Jesus answers the question about grounds for divorce, he refers back to Genesis 1 and 2, to God’s plan for marriage. Why does he do this?
  • Why does Jesus insist on permitting children to come to him?
  • Why does the rich young ruler go away from Jesus grieving?
  • What rewards are in store for those who follow Jesus?
  • Why is it impossible to serve both God and money?
  • Why won’t people be persuaded to believe if someone rises from the dead?

 

DAY 6 Matthew 20: Mark 10:32-52; Luke 18:31-19:27

  • What is the central truth of the parable of the vineyard workers?
  • Why don’t the disciples understand Jesus when he predicts his death and resurrection?
  • What changes come to Zacchaeus that indicate salvation truly came to him?
