Adore the Lord - Care for Others - Train the Saints - Share the Gospel

Why do teachers give so much homework?

Teachers want students to remember what they learn in school.

School helps you succeed in life, whether you become a parent, doctor, or store owner. Teachers want to help you succeed, so they give you homework. Homework helps you remember the things your teacher said in class. Homework lets you practice on your own. If you do your homework, you can feel more confident and do better in school the next day.

Make a special time and find a specific place to do your homework every day. Don't wait until after you play to start it - do it as soon as you get home. If you don't have any homework, you may use your "homework time" to review math facts or read for fun.

Some kids need extra practice, and all of us have subjects we find easier and harder. Even if you don't think you need the practice, make a good habit to do your homework. One day, when you have your own job, your boss will give you things to do that you don't like. You'll still have to do them to get paid and keep your job. God tells us in the Bible that life isn't always fun or easy. For those who love and trust Jesus, God plans everything that happens to help them become more like Jesus.

Let's pray...  Dear God, please help me to remember that it's important to take pride in everything I do, even if it's things I don't like to do.  I am doing them because I love You and want to honor you with my life.  I know that everything I do, no matter how hard, is part of your plan.  Thanks for always thinking of me and including me in your plans.  Amen.
