Charities and Missions

On this page you can find shortcuts and information about various missions and charitable organizations.  Frequently, a mission or charity will be highlighted as a current focus of Dawson Baptist Church. 
 

 

 

 

During the months of December and January, Dawson received offerings for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Bro. Craig challenged the church to fully fund a missionary for 1 month.  We are pleased to say that Dawson surpassed the challenge amount!  Thanks to all that gave!!

Dawson Baptist filled 130 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Thank you to all those who took one or more!

Dawson Baptist collected donations for the Eliza Broadus State Missions Offering during the month of September!  Thanks to all that donated!

During the month of March, Dawson received offerings supporting North American Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.  Thanks to all those that donated!

Sunrise Childrens Services
Sunrise Children's Services is a faith-based non-profit agency that cares for children and youth who have fallen victim to abuse or neglect.  You can learn more about the way they touch the lives of children in need by visiting www.sunrise.org
 

 
Hospice of Western Kentucky

     Hospice of Western Ky has an immediate need for volunteers to:  Arrange flowers in vases on Tuesday mornings, Deliver flowers to patients in their homes/nursing homes one day per week, Sit with patients to give caregivers a break a few hours per week, Help with bulk mailings about 4 times per year, Make phone calls and do date entry, Help our quilting volunteers with piece work or sewing 'NO sewing experience required', and donations of flower vases.  Thanks

Urgent Need in Haiti
By now everyone has seen or heard information about the disasterous earthquake in Haiti.  Much of the population has lost everything.  They will need support and prayer for years to come.  If you can help please choose a relief organization to give as you are able.  There are several well known groups listed here, or choose another if you prefer.

 Global Outreach Home Office
      It was voted at the business meeting on July 8th, that Dawson Baptist take a love offering for the Global Outreach Home Office.  This office with 10 employees supports the ministry of nearly 200 missionaries in 38 countries around the world, including David and Judy Heady in Haiti. 
  

 
Jail Ministries
     This years Jail Ministry Christmas Project, which Dawson participated in, provided gifts for 702 children whose parents are in the Daviess County Detention Center.  Each family also received a Bible.  Thanks to all those that helped!
